Your data
What we read, what we keep, and what we can never do.
We read two numbers from your inverter: daily production and current power. We keep your e-mail address, where your roof is and your billing details, and your account is hosted in Amsterdam. We can never switch your installation on or off, this site sets no cookies, and your data is never sold or used for advertising.
We can never switch anything on or off
The connection is read-only: we ask the manufacturer for permission to read, and nothing else.
-
You approve read access on the manufacturer’s own sign-in page (or, for Growatt, with a token you generate yourself), and you can withdraw it whenever you like.
-
Revoke that access and we stop receiving data. Nothing on your roof changes.
Exactly what we read from your inverter
Two numbers.
-
Daily production
How many kilowatt-hours your installation produced on each day. This is the figure the daily check compares with what was expected for the weather over your roof.
-
Current power
What the installation is producing at the moment we look, so the portal can draw today’s curve and we can tell a sleeping inverter from a dark sky.
-
And nothing else
No battery, no household consumption, no import or export, no meter readings, no cost or savings figures.
What you give us
- Your e-mail address
- Where the alerts go, and how you sign in. Nothing else arrives there: no newsletter and no product mail you did not ask for.
- Where the installation is
- The location of the roof, accurate enough to fetch the weather over it.
- Billing details
- The name and address that go on your invoice. The payment itself is handled by the payment provider; we never see a full card number.
- If you use the check
- The place and the numbers you type go to our server once to work out the answer. A postcode is shortened to its area on the page before it is sent, and the place goes to Open-Meteo to find it on the map. Nothing is kept with your connection; the place is held in memory for at most 7 days to answer the same question faster.
Where it lives, and who else sees it
- Your account and your measurements are hosted in Amsterdam, in the Netherlands.
- A few providers help us run the service: hosting, payments, e-mail, push notifications, weather, and the optional sign-in with Google, Microsoft or Apple. Each is named in the privacy policy, with what it does.
- You can see, correct, export or erase what we hold about you.
- Never sold, never rented, never used for advertising, and never handed to a data broker.
- Weather comes from Open-Meteo, requested by coordinates, or by the town or postcode area you type into the check. They receive a location; they never receive who you are.
Delete it whenever you want
Your account page in the portal has a delete button. It removes your account, your inverters and your measurements and ends your subscription. You do not need to ask us. Only invoices stay: Dutch tax law requires us to keep them for seven years. To stop the reading but keep the account, disconnect the inverter.
